TEC 982 - The Flipped Classroom

3 Units
This online course will research the pros and cons of flipping the classroom which, at its most basic definition, means that students watch a video of the day's lesson while at home and work on problem sets, projects and discussions during class time. In other words, traditional homework would be done during the school day, where the student has access to the teacher's expertise and interaction with their peers while the lecture (lesson) would be watched at home. Course covers all the mechanics of making your videos, creating an online presence for your class and the pedagogy behind the flipped classroom. Note: Required text must be purchased separately: Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every Student in Every Class Every Day, by Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sams.
Center for Professional Development students only.
