Overview

In preparing students for a career, the Marketing major integrates theory and practice, instills an understanding of the relationship between business administration and Christian faith, and encourages a commitment to ethical behavior and service. It does so in the context of a liberal arts education.

Students interested in majoring in Marketing should complete their prerequisite and foundational courses during their freshman and sophomore years. A major should be selected in consultation with the major advisor. Upon completion of the major, students will be prepared to seek employment or pursue advanced study in the field. 

Program Student Learning Outcomes

1. Studies will articulate the practical applications of marketing theories, principles and research studies through working with applied business problems, projects and case studies
2. Students will identify, evaluate and synthesize information by utilizing the most apprioriate quantitative and qualitative methods, tools, devices and modalities for effective decision-making.
3. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between business administration and the Christian faith through their ability to discern, reason and create resolutions to ethical issues.
4. Students will present and discuss management theory and business practices through effective verbal and nonverbal communication in group settings. 
5. Students will demonstrate logical reasoning, and critical analysis to develop and implement business concepts and management practice in an effective manner through proper written language.
