PHIL 450 - History of Political Theory and Ideas

Recommended prior coursework: PHIL-100. Survey of political theorizing and the development of ideas on political order from ancient Greece, Rome, China, as well as Jewish and Christian theology, Medieval thinkers and the development of early-modern and modern political philosophy. Readings include Plato, Aristotle, Han Fei Tzu, biblical authors, medieval philosophers, Locke, Hobbes, Marx and American political philosophers.
