PS 450 - History of Political Theory and Ideas

Recommended prior coursework: PHIL-100. Survey of political theorizing and the development of ideas on political order from ancient Greece, Rome, and China as well as Jewish and Christian theology, Medieval thinkers and the development of early-modern and modern political philosophy. Readings include Plato, Aristotle, Han Fei Tzu, biblical authors, medieval philosophers, Locke, Hobbes, Marx, and American political philosophers.
