BUS 448 - Introduction to Project Management

This course introduces current project management processes and procedures and equips students with the knowledge and skills to serve in project leadership roles. While exploring the project life cycle, students gain experience in developing a project charter, scope statement, risk management, and communication plan. Students will also be introduced to the basics of budget and resource management. Project management software is introduced with case samples provided for clear understanding of the function of project management software used to develop project schedules. The course introduces the major steps in the project management process, provides demonstrations on how to implement the steps required to satisfy a customer or client, and provides a real-world scenario to use as a model in developing a project plan. This class requires team work and has an individual assignment as well.
