SPEC 605 - Positive Behavior SupportCredits 3 This course promotes an understanding of the ethical, moral, and theological implications of peacemaking and restorative practices in developing a comprehensive classroom management plan in a special education setting. Candidates will reflect on their classroom disposition and develop a teaching disposition philosophy that fosters community and acceptance for all students. Candidates will complete a field study in a special education setting in which they will observe and identify a student behavior that impedes learning, conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment, write an anecdotal report, and develop a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) to teach pro-social functionally equivalent replacement behaviors and positive coping skills to the child. Take SPEC-601, SPEC-684A (Required, Previous) Take SPEC-684B (Required, Concurrent) May not be audited.
