SPEC 684B - Initial Field Experience B -General Ed

Recommended prior coursework: SPEC-601, SPSEC-609 This second course in the series of early fieldwork preparation provides candidates with opportunities to engage with a variety of school site members and stakeholders through interviews, direct observations, and other field assignments. Candidates will also observe and engage in directed experiences of the range of general education settings. Candidates will teach in and reflect on those experiences in experienced mentor teacher classrooms and will specifically address one or more of the teaching standards. These early field experiences will include co-planning, co-teaching, and guided teaching and will occur in general education. Early field experiences will reflect the diversity of age and grade levels. Candidates will have opportunities to develop pedagogical knowledge of high-leverage practices in subject matter content areas. Candidates will have experiences with a range of diverse students and families reflective of the demographics of California. Candidates will complete 100 of the required 200 total hours of supervised early fieldwork.
