SPEC 731 - Issues in Teaching: Investigating Problems of Practice in Special Education

Students examine educational issues related to the first years in teaching with an emphasis on issues directly affecting classroom instruction. Students explore theoretical frameworks for these issues and engage in conversations focused on resolving problems of practice found within the special education context. Topics include classroom management and organization, adapting instruction to meet the needs of all students and new teacher identity development. The topics of the course are designed to complement the California induction program for new teachers.
Must have been recommended for a preliminary FPU Education Specialist Credential within the previous 5 years.
