SPEC 690C - Continuing Intern Teaching Support

This course is required for candidates on an intern credential that have completed coursework yet have additional requirements to be met. These additional requirements commonly include passing the Teaching Performance Assessments (TPAs) and/or RICA. Intern teaching candidates working on an FPU Internship credential will receive support and complete the required hours of intern support per the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (144 hours general support; 45 hours of additional English Learner support). The course provides candidates in all preliminary credential programs (Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, Early Childhood Special Education) support as they progress on their developmental continuum of learning and work towards completing the preliminary credential requirements. The course is required every semester a candidate is employed as an intern, that has completed coursework, yet unable to exit and apply for a preliminary credential due to additional requirements needing to be met.
Repeatable for Credit. Graded CR/NC.
