SPEC 690A - Independent Teaching Support

This course is designed to provide support to candidates who have been hired by a school district as an independent teacher (Short-term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP). Candidates are provided with a University Mentor who provides support and guidance throughout the term. The course provides candidates in all preliminary credential programs (Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, Early Childhood Special Education) mentor support as they progress on their developmental continuum of learning to teach and application of theory to practice in their professional environment. The course is required every semester a candidate is employed as an independent teacher.
Repeatable for Credit. Graded CR/NC.
