The natural history of a selected region or ecosystem through study of its geology, climate, ecology, flora, and fauna. The format combines field study with readings, use of field guides, and nature journaling. The course fosters observational skills, understanding of scientific concepts, appreciation of the natural world, and environmental stewardship.
