COUN 747 - Counseling Individuals

In the context of Recovery and Wellness Oriented Care and Systems Theory, this course is a survey of modern and postmodern theoretical models of psychotherapy for individuals. Foundational skills in counseling will be reviewed, and theory-specific clinical understanding and intervention skills will be introduced. The models presented will also be examined from religious and multicultural perspectives. Empirical support for theories will be considered. The course is accompanied by a lab component (separate course listing and registration: COUN 747L).
