HIST 429 - Introduction to U.S.-Mexico Relations1 Recommended prior coursework: One semester of U.S. history. Historical survey of relations between the United States and Mexico from the time of Mexican independence to the present, including the struggle for Texas, the Mexican-American War, late 19th century diplomacy and investment, the Mexican Revolution and American reaction, and issues of trade, economic development, immigration and drug enforcement. Students may take up to 2 semesters to complete the course.
