PHIL 103 - Logic and Critical Thinking3 Introduction to formal and informal logic and argumentation. Emphasizes the acquisition of basic logical concepts and the development and application of skills to distinguish good from bad reasoning. The student is assisted in developing his or her ability to think critically and coherently and to construct well-formulated arguments. Skills of logical reasoning are taught through the use of everyday life cases and through influential arguments on important philosophical topics.
