Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of all courses required for the LACS program, students will be able to:
- Analyze topics in culture, politics, economics, society, and education in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
- Engage in critical thinking about the main problems, challenges and debates that Latin America will face in the 21st century.
- Examine current issues in Latin America in the context of historical developments.
- Use interdisciplinary and systemic tools to study Latin American complexity, including the advanced study of fields such as economics, political science, sociology, history, natural science or engineering.
- Describe the unique characteristics of Latin America as well as its diversity.
- Study the Latin American context in relation to the US.
