Overview
The English minor is designed for students who wish to augment other majors with a study of literature and composition. In addition to the development of the skills of reading, literary analysis and writing, it offers students the opportunity to explore a variety of experiences in English, American, and multicultural literature.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Read, interpret and critique a variety of literary and non-literary texts that reflect a range of styles, historical periods and cultural perspectives.
- Create a variety of literary and non-literary texts, demonstrating effective communication in multiple modes for multiple audiences and purposes.
- Articulate the diverse ethical, cultural, political and religious contexts of literary texts.
- Use current disciplinary discourse, terminology, and research conventions.
