Overview
Students of the graphic design major will become fluent in the visual language of today's top marketing strategists and agencies. Students will learn how to think about, and execute, effective design with courses in color exploration, typography and mixed-media. The courses in this program provide opportunities to learn about strategic marketing, expanding creative innovation, digital artistic expression and real-world application. Students who choose to major in graphic design will leave the program with the skills, knowledge, and an award-winning portfolio that will make them valuable in the graphic design and marketing industries.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Historical and Theoretical Knowledge in Graphic Design:
- Students will know fundamental historical and theoretical principles and concepts in the area of Graphic Design.
- Perception and Communication in Graphic Design:
- Students will articulate artistic perception in graphic design.
- Graphic Design Methods:
- Students will be able to use appropriate graphic design tools and mediums.
- Graphic Design Skills:
- Students will create and construct graphic design work relating to visual design concepts learned.
- Moral Reasoning:
- Students will demonstrate awareness of Christian beliefs and values.
- Industry Professionalism and Service:
- Students will value professionalism and learn how to make connections in the graphic design industry.
