Creative Writing Minor

Return to: School of Humanities, Religion and Social Science Programs
Overview
The creative writing minor allows students to explore personal interests in creative writing, expand their resumés, and prepare for potential graduate study, such as a Master of Fine Arts. You will choose from a variety of writing courses that focus on different genres, while one literature course allows for in-depth study of the type of literature that you wish to write, whether that be novels, film adaptations, or children's and young adult books. Other opportunities include taking an advanced course that has been tailored to your interests as part of our summer Sierra program and working as an editor on the university's literary journal, The Green Light.
