KIN 120 - Concepts of Wellness

This course is an introductory study, which will investigate various dimensions of wellness (spiritual, physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and occupational) as they relate to stewardship of the body. This course addresses issues of personal choice, attitude, change, and personal responsibility as well as understanding health risk, human challenges, and destructive behaviors associated with lifestyle choices. Students participate in a variety of lab activities to reflect on and self-assess each dimension of wellness, as well as seek opportunities to apply positive changes towards improving their well-being and quality of life. This course fulfills the general education requirements for Wellness. Lecture, 45 hours.
