MATH 480 - History of Mathematics

Recommended prior coursework: 300 level or higher MATH coursework. A historical survey of mathematical development from earliest times to the 20th century, including topics such as number systems, geometry, algebra, calculus, and subsequent modern developments. This course addresses the societal and cultural contexts of these developments in addition to the historical techniques themselves.
