PHIL 103 - Critical ThinkingCredits 3 Introduction to critical thinking. This course helps students use key distinctions to think critically about concepts, evidence, and inferences so they can distinguish good from bad reasoning in a wide variety of contexts and disciplines. Critical thinking skills are taught through the analysis of everyday life cases and influential arguments on important philosophical topics. In written work and constructive dialogue with peers, students learn to connect assertions with supporting evidence, clarify unclear concepts, simplify complex sentences, elaborate on key ideas, and avoid all forms of illogical reasoning.
