ECON 103 - Introduction to Economics

Credits: 3
Economics is the study of how society manages its scarce resources. This course introduces the essentials of economics. Students will learn the principles of economics supply and demand, how economics applies to consumers and producers, and how it affects market efficiencies. This course also touches on how economics affects production costs and competitive markets, production growth unemployment, money growth, and inflation.  Students will have multiple interactive activities for practice for each chapter/principle covered to obtain a solid foundation in the essentials of how economists analyze the forces and trends that affect the overall economy, including the growth in average income, the fraction of the population that cannot find work, and the rate at which prices are rising.
