MUS 107 - Elements of MusicianshipCredits: 3 Elements of Musicianship will provide an introduction to the elements of music, including beat, rhythm, dynamics, tempo and written notation. The class will loosely follow a lecture format: lecture will be used to introduce concepts, but various practice activities will be used in class to reinforce said concepts in whole class, individual, and group performance settings. Practice activities will include singing, dancing, clapping, playing instruments, writing, notating music, reading, listening to music and viewing video examples. Lecture and practice activities will be presented in a way that has shown to be effective in an elementary classroom setting, and special attention will be given to applications of these techniques in the classroom. Degree completion only. May not be audited.
