Overview
The music minor blends the academic study of music with the experience of performing in an ensemble. It is a great option for students who are passionate about music but choose to major in another field.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will successfully demonstrate advanced proficiency in chosen instrument.
- Students will articulate a working knowledge of music history and music theory.
- Students will articulate the role that a Christian worldview plays in the musical disciplines.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in participating in the music industry as both a solo and collaborative artist.

Lower Division Major Prerequisites (6 Units)
Required Courses (13 Units)
Select one of the following:
Applied Music (Private Instruction) (4 units)
Four semesters of private instruction on the same instrument and successful completion of the Level 1 Exam.
Ensemble (8 units)
Four semesters of participation in a performing ensemble. All ensemble participation units may be taken in any of these ensembles:
Up to 50% of all required ensemble units may be taken in any of these ensembles:
