SPEC 690B - Intern Teaching SupportCredits 2 This course is designed to provide support to candidates who have been hired by a school district as an intern teacher. Candidates are provided with a University Mentor who provides support and guidance throughout the term. Independent teaching candidates working on an FPU Internship credential will receive support and complete the required hours of intern support per the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (144 hours general support; 45 hours of additional English Learner support). The course provides candidates in all preliminary credential programs (Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, Early Childhood Special Education) mentor support as they progress on their developmental continuum of learning to teach and application of theory to practice in their professional environment. The course is required every semester a candidate is employed as an intern while completing coursework. SPEC-684, SPEC-601, EDUC-642, or EDUC-646 (Required, Previous) Repeatable for Credit. Graded CR/NC.
